March Highlights
On March 14th, seventeen people met at the Red Apple Restaurant and Pancake House in Palatine for the Windy City Winnies March meeting, hosted by Kathy and Willie Hegg. It was a beautiful day for the outing. We had a bright sunny day, making it a wonderful day to be out with friends.
Twelve members of the club attended along with four WCW Friends and one special guest. In attendance were, Bob & Laurie Dukes, Joanne Kauffman, Audrey McWhorter, Al & Sandra Oswall, Ken & Fran Phillips, Joe & Lorrie Schleich, Jack & Marge Heddens, Al & Marilyn See, and Lauren Hegg (home from college and enjoying a free meals from her parents).
After getting the seating arrangements settled, we ordered lunch, which was prepared very quickly and served with a smile by our friendly and helpful server. The food was excellent and the portions large. Everyone enjoyed catching up with those that stayed in Chicago braving the winter weather.
After lunch, Joanne Kauffman called the meeting to order and conducted the meeting in record time. We then continued catching up with each other agreed we are looking forward to the spring and summer meetings when we will have more of our members in attendance and enjoying camping outings. We are anticipating a large turnout at the April meeting at Saddlebrook Farms when many members will be back from their snowbird vacations.
